How AniReads handles and protects user information
AniReads is dedicated to preserving user privacy. This privacy disclosure outlines what information is collected, stored, and utilized when accessing our platform:
Firebase Authentication
We utilize Firebase Authentication to securely verify user registration and logins. Your password and email addresses are securely handled by Google Firebase servers and are not exposed in cleartext to our servers or third parties.
Reading Progress & Library Storage
We store library lists and reading progress logs Client-side (in local storage) and Server-side (in Google Firestore) for account sync. This data is strictly used to display progress bars, streaks, and enable page resumes.
Analytics Usage
We run basic, privacy-focused analytics to monitor page load speeds, resource consumption, and popular routes. We do not track users across external sites or build behavioral profiles.
No Sale of User Data
AniReads is built as a non-profit tool. We do not sell, trade, rent, or monetize your personal data. Your accounts, libraries, and reading logs are private unless you explicitly opt-in to make your profile public.
Cookie Usage
We use local storage keys and minimal persistent session cookies strictly to keep you authenticated and store your reader configuration preferences (like mode, zoom level, and background OLED theme). No advertising or tracking cookies are placed.
